Road Safety Program Coordinator
Position type: Full-Time Permanent Position: 37.5 / week
Reports to: Director of Programs
Start date: As soon as possible
Location: Ottawa-Based (Hybrid)
Salary Range: $48,000 - $55,000, commiserate with professional experience

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Road Safety Program Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the general duties of the Motorcycle Training Program and the School Crossing Guard Program.
50% School Crossing Guard Program
Triages and responds to telephone, e-mail, and in-person inquiries from Crossing Guards.
Assists in the logistical scheduling of Crossing Guards: receiving, tracking and filling leave requests, including last minute/same day time off requests, longer term leave and vacated positions for both Toronto and Ottawa branches (Toronto to be done remotely).
Assists the School Crossing Guard Team with logistical aspects of the program, such as meetings, seminars, workshops, special projects, and events.
Assists with Ottawa site visits as necessary.
Works closely with the teams in both Ottawa and Toronto to fill vacancies.
Subject Matter Expert on TrackTik and provide support and coaching to Guards and new staff.
Tracks, prepares, and submits reports regarding vacancies, time and attendance.
Supports other program areas when required (e.g. Welcome Sessions, Information Sessions, events).
Provides recruitment needs and information to team members managing social media streams, uses and updates job boards, and performs public outreach (e.g., attend job fairs, community associations meetings, etc.) to advertise field staff opportunities.
Coordinates and participates in special events, community fairs, farmers markets and trade shows including informational booths, displays, recruitment sessions with partner organizations, and other related activities.
Supports the gathering of application documents and on-boarding of field staff.
Assists with equipment inventory and maintenance.
50% Motorcycle Training Program
Assist with the day-to-day duties of the MTP program including corresponding with students and instructors.
Assist with the planning, logistics, and execution of the Annual OSC MTP Charity Ride.
Assist with the fundraising and participant recruitment.
Other duties as assigned.
Job requirements
Police Records Check (PRC) with the Vulnerable Sector - PRC can be completed during the application process. Costs associated with the PRC will be reimbursed by the OSC after three (3) months of employment. Employment offer conditional upon a valid PRC.
English proficiency is required, other languages an asset.
Post-secondary education in office administration, human resources, customer service, and/or hospitality would be an asset.
2+ years working in an office environment, mandatory.
Experience with community engagement / recruitment and volunteer management an asset.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Works well with others and takes direction and criticism in a positive manner.
Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines.
Maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times.
Availability to work Monday to Friday, during regular business hours, some earlier shifts may be required (6:30am to 2:30pm), and occasional evenings and weekends. Staff could be required to work from the office at anytime.
Driver’s license and access to a vehicle - required.
Experience with motorcycle riding an asset.
Local travel will be required occasionally.
Politically and culturally sensitive.
Knowledge of scheduling, time, and attendance tracking software an asset.
WordPress, Adobe Illustrator, and Canva an asset.
Able to occasionally lift items as heavy as 50lbs.
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
